Information Collected and Stored Automatically
AMIA automatically collects a limited amount of information about the use of its website, primarily for statistical purposes (that is, to measure the numbers of visitors to various sections of the site). This information may also be helpful when we are considering changes to make the site more useful to visitors. AMIA does rent its member mailing addresses to other organizations that provide educational or other services that are deemed to be of interest to our members. This information does not contain phone or email data. Members are given the chance to opt out of this at time of membership application, renewal, and may also opt out by updating his/her member profile. AMIA does not sell or rent its non-member list (either address or email) to other organizations.
Financial and Customer Information
Our site uses order forms that allow customers to request information, products, and services. We collect a visitor's contact information (e-mail address), unique identifiers (their membership identification number), and financial information (account or credit card numbers). Contact information collected from the order form is used to send orders to customers. Financial information is used to collect payment from the user for billable products and services.
