Nursing Informatics Leadership within AMIA is crucial to its mission, continued growth and vitality. The Nursing Informatics Working Group (NIWG) identified the need to develop future nurse leaders within AMIA as part of their 2017 strategic plan. This webinar builds upon the AMIA NIWG member meeting Panel Presentation that was held in the Fall of 2017. It is intended for individuals who are seriously considering advancement to leadership roles within AMIA. If you are interested in leadership development and achieving leadership positions within AMIA including NIWG and other committee leadership and/or AMIA Board nomination in the future, come participate in what should be a lively discussion. The webinar format is a facilitated discussion with active attendee participation. Be prepared to share current activities that will enhance your leadership progression.
After participating in this activity, the learner should be better able to:
- Articulate what it means to "progress" to leadership positions within AMIA
- Self identify as a candidate who, with mentoring, resources and direction, is a potential future nominee to AMIA leadership postions
- Create a plan towards future AMIA leadership postions
