The COVID-19 global pandemic sparked a need for a novel approach to answer pressing questions about the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C) is an initiative that was created to harmonize electronic health data on COVID-19 patients across US hospital systems. This synergistic effort between the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) and the National Center for Data to Health (CD2H) is partnered with distributed clinical data networks (PCORnet, OHDSI, ACT, TriNetX) and the Clinical Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Program.
The N3C Data Enclave is an analytics platform for COVID-19 research that houses:
• 1 billion rows of data
• 400+ researchers
• 1+ million patient records
This unique resource can be used to answer critical questions, create pilot data for grants, provide an opportunity for team science research, and facilitate access to clinical, informatics, and analytic experts. The doors are open for research!
