Stony Brook University Health Sciences Center

The Graduate Program in BMI offers the MS and PhD degrees as well as an Advanced Graduate Certificate. The Department of Biomedical Infomatics is dually housed in the School of Medicine and in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. We emphasize the translation of knowledge into practical use in three areas of specialization, or Tracks: Clinical Informatics, Imaging Informatics, and Translational Bioinformatics. BMI education is also embedded in research and operations at a Medical Center, where Quantitative Sciences have emerged at the very core of efforts to understand, prevent and treat disease. Graduates can expect careers in academia, research institutions, hospitals, industry, or government.
