PhD in Nursing at University of Minnesota, School of Nursing

Emphasizes research and prepares nursing professionals with experience and interest in a clinical specialty for research or teaching roles in academia. The program enables students to design an individualized program of study that meets a set of graduate objectives.

The PhD program focuses on developing new knowledge through research. Students take the PhD core courses and informatics electives. Example of electives include population health informatics, knowledge representation and interoperability, clinical decision support, data mining and knowledge discovery, etc.

The program is offered in a traditional, in-person, format.
