The Master of Health Informatics and Information Management (MHIIM), offered on a three-semester-per-year basis, is designed for, but not limited to, part-time, non-traditional students. Online coursework is the primary method of content delivery. The master’s program offers two tracks: Health Informatics and Health Information Management. The Health Informatics (HI) track prepares graduates to assume a critical role in the development and implementation of electronic medical records in hospitals and health systems as related to structure, function and transfer of information, socio-technical aspects of health computing, human-computer interaction, computer networks, database and systems administration, security and programming. Internships are available as additional electives in the MHIIM Health Informatics track. The department also offers a bachelor’s degree in HIIM.
