The University of Michigan offers a 2-year, residential master’s degree in health informatics. The program integrates the expertise of the School of Public Health in population health, health policy, and individual health behaviors with that of the School of Information in human-centered design and the development, implementation, and evaluation of leading-edge information resources.

The U-M program is one of very few with a distinctive emphasis on developing leaders for a wide range of potential careers in this rapidly growing field. The curriculum focuses on issues in consumer health informatics, in addition to issues in clinical and population health informatics. Graduates are prepared with the skills and knowledge to innovate and to lead efforts to improve the use of information in promoting better health and health care delivery.
