Graduate Program in Biomedical and Health Informatics at Oregon Health & Science University

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) offers a full spectrum of education for future practitioners, researchers, and leaders in biomedical and health informatics. Programs are offered at the doctoral (PhD), master’s (Master of Science and Master of Biomedical Informatics [MBI]), and Graduate Certificate levels. The program has two tracks. The Clinical Informatics track is focused on health care, individual health, and public health, with offerings at all degree and certificate levels. All programs in this track are offered on campus, with the MBI and Graduate Certificate also offered via distance learning. The Bioinformatics & Computational Biology track is offered at the PhD and master’s degree levels. Funding for both tracks is available for those interested in the PhD or postdoctoral work (including a master’s degree) is available via a National Library of Medicine Training Grant. Funding is also available for the Graduate Certificate program from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC). OHSU was also the original partner with AMIA in the 10x10 program and continues to offer its course several times per year. OHSU also offers a summer internship program for college undergraduates.
