Doctor of Nursing Practice at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Nursing

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at UTHealth is a post master’s practice doctorate that prepares clinical scholars who are advanced practice nurses (NPs, CNS, nurse informaticist, and CRNAs), nurse managers/directors, and nurses working in the field of informatics to be recognized for translational science, outstanding innovative evidence-based patient/population care and leadership in nursing practice and healthcare delivery. The UTHealth DNP curriculum is designed and tailored specifically for nurse informaticists, and is the only program of its kind in the state of Texas. The coursework is offered as a part-time or full-time program of study. Planned individualized clinical and fellowship experiences support the student’s goals and achievement of the national DNP competencies.
