CIBRC Live is a three-day, intensive course led by distinguished faculty, leaders in Biomedical Informatics, and experienced practicing clinical informaticians. Live meetings are held twice a year and provide opportunities to interact with subject matter experts.
AMIA’s three-day, intensive course, held twice a year, is led by distinguished faculty, leaders in Biomedical Informatics, and experienced practicing clinical informaticians. It provides a high-level review of the Core Content of Clinical Informatics (JAMIA 2009, Gardner, et al) on which the exam will be based. CIBRC Live helps participants develop a learning map that highlights where they need to spend additional preparation time.
Live meetings provide opportunities to interact with Clinical Informatics subject matter experts and to spend time in informal sessions sharing with and learning from other course participants.
The CIBRC Live learning experience covers the four core content areas of Clinical Informatics: Fundamentals, Clinical Decision Making and Care Process Improvement, Health Information Systems, and Leading and Managing Change. This year’s course includes an all-new module addressing Pathology Informatics.
The course includes sample test questions, hyperlinked references, citations for additional reading, and test-taking strategies. Upon completion, learners are eligible to claim 25 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ provided by AMIA.

Our online course delivers an engaging interactive learning experience with content-specific study questions, downloadable audio lectures, video, and other visuals to enhance the learning experience.
A core component of this learning experience is the Competency Tracker, a learning strategy that provides a customized curriculum based on a learner's assessment results. The Competency Tracker responds to learner input and provides content recommendations based on the participants Simulated Board Exam results.
Exercises contain references and citations for additional reading. Upon completion, learners are eligible to claim 24 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ provided by AMIA.
CIBRC Online Plus including Simulated Board Exam & Practice Tests -
Get ready for the Board Exam with a variety of learner prep tools. From a simulated Board Exam to learner-generated tests, you will get a thorough self-assessment.
The Simulated Board Exam consists of multiple choice board-style questions created by clinical informaticians, and it is designed to mimic the Clinical Informatics Subspecialty Board Exam with a similar content distribution of test items. Upon scoring, the learner receives clear, detailed feedback for each question with answer explanations and references. Based on performance, the learner receives an individualized study plan highlighting course content to address specific learning needs.
CIBRC Test consists of learner-generated tests that support ongoing practice with a question pool from which learners self-assess throughout their subscription. When building a learner-generated test, learners may customize the experience by selecting the number of test questions and the type of questions from any one of the four core content areas.
