AMIA 2013 Registration Information

Registration Rates

Full registration fees for members, non-members, and students cover all events except for tutorials, designated affiliate events, and selected special events. 

The specific time and date of all sessions, speakers names and abstracts are available in the Itinerary Planner.

Government Shutdown Registration Extension

For Federal employees affected by the 16-day government shutdown, AMIA is extending advanced registration rates for Federal government employees ONLY.

Register for Pre-Symposium events ONLY (no AMIA 2013 Symposium)

If you would like to register for the Pre-symposium Workshops, Tutorials or Working Group presymposia events ONLY (Friday, Saturday, Sunday morning) without attending the rest of the Annual Symposium, please follow these instructions.

  1. Login to your account or create an account if you do not have one already.
  2. Use Password help to retrieve a record and avoid duplicate record creation.
  3. On the right side of the registration form change the dropdown “Reg Type” from “Full” to “Pre-symposium Only.”
  4. Under Event Fees check off the box next to “AMIA 2013 Pre-symposium Only.”
  5. Select the appropriate pre-symposium under Tutorials/Special Events.
  6. Click “Add to cart” and proceed to check-out.

Register events without AMIA 2013

 

Add Pre-Symposium events to an EXISTING AMIA 2013 Symposium registration

If you have already registered for AMIA 2013, but at a later date would like to add any of the Pre-symposium Workshops, Tutorials or Working Group presymposia events or the AMIA Casino Night Networking Meet-up, please follow these instructions.

  1. Login to your AMIA account.
  2. Go to My Profile.
  3. Click the Invoices & Transactions tab of the page.
  4. Scroll to Events.
  5. Find AMIA 2013 and click on “Add Tracks/Sessions.”
  6. Select the appropriate sessions, click “Save/Add to cart” and proceed with check-out.

Member Rates

Member rates apply to anyone who has a full AMIA membership for 2013 ($300 dues) or an Member Advantage membership ($450 dues) with the expiration date of 12/31/2014. They do not apply to the trial membership and the affiliate membership.

Author Rates

Author rates apply to primary authors of all AMIA 2013 accepted papers, posters,podium abstracts, and system demonstrations, and all panel participants. Author rates do not apply to tutorial presenters or secondary authors.

Student Rates

Student Rates are for full-time students. They do not apply to part-time students. All students MUST present proof of student status including both a photocopy of a current, valid student ID plus a letter from the university/college registrar’s office verifying current full-time enrollment in a degree or post-doctoral program at the time of AMIA 2013 Annual Symposium.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation of a conference registration does not constitute cancellation of a hotel room. Please be sure to handle both separately. Cancellation and refund requests must be received by AMIA in writing (e-mail your request dasha@amia.org or fax it to 301-657-1296). By September 26, 2013: Full refund minus $50 processing fee. Between September 27 and October 31, 2013: 50% refund. After October 31: No refunds will be issued. However, registrations can be transferred to another member of your organization.

Transfer of Paid Registrations Policy

Registrants who are unable to attend the meeting may transfer their registration to another person. Transfer of registration must be in writing and received by the AMIA office by October 26, 2013 or presented on-site. If a member registration is transferred to a non-member, that person will have to pay the difference between the member and the non-member rates.

Payment

Online registration is for credit card payment only. If you would like to pay by check, purchase order, or wire transfer, send or fax the print registration form to the AMIA office.

Consent to Use Photographic Images

Registration and participation in AMIA meetings and activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to AMIA's use and distribution of the registrant or attendee's images or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audio record such events and activities.
