President’s Column and Other Messages from AMIA
In 2011, AMIA’s scientific journal, the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, began to include a brief "Messages from AMIA" column at the end of each issue. The purpose of these columns is to provide a forum for our organization to inform and involve its current and potential members through a regular series of articles that are suitable for inclusion in a widely read archival publication. The messages are generally written by the President of AMIA and reflect the goals and direction of the organization. Occasionally another AMIA leader, such as the Chair of the Board of Directors, writes these columns, which are intended to inspire members and readers to connect with the association on strategic objectives and activities. An archive of the articles is maintained here on the AMIA web site. Unless otherwise indicated, the author of the column is AMIA’s President and CEO.
