NIH, NSF, and Partners Host mHealth Evidence Workshop

October 7, 2011

Recently, the Pioneer program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the McKesson Foundation, the Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences and National Heart, Lung and Blood Institutes at the National Institutes of Health, and the National Science Foundation put on a workshop to discuss and identify more effective methods to generate evidence of efficacy and effectiveness for the emerging science of mobile health (mHealth). The overall conclusion of the meeting was that mHealth has great potential to support health and wellbeing worldwide, and, therefore, there is need to enhance the scientific foundations.
