Imagine how much bigger, stronger, more diverse, and more resourceful AMIA would be if every AMIA member recruited a new one to the Association. With so much activity in our professional world, with so much burgeoning science, and the expanding work force, a bigger and bolder AMIA should be a dream everyone can appreciate and work toward!

The primary goal of AMIA’s 2011 Member-Get-A-Member Drive is an expanded association with more potential collaborators and partners with whom to share vast stores of expertise.

This year, your Membership Committee asks you to personally be responsible for bringing in one new AMIA member. Help just one of the new trainees coming through one of the ONC-funded educational programs to find his/her way to AMIA. Any emerging professional would benefit greatly from AMIA membership, its high-value meetings, and its extraordinary network of experts and mentors!

Members who successfully recruit new members will be invited to participate in the Member-Get-A-Member recognition ceremony at the AMIA Annual Symposium in October. The top three recruiters will receive prizes for their efforts.

To refer a colleague, visit www.amia.org/tell-a-friend or send a prospective member the direct link to membership information: www.amia.org/join-amia Be sure to advise new members to include your name on their online application as the member that referred them.

Thank you for your dedication and for striving to make AMIA a bigger, more highly connected professional association for informatics leaders and professionals.
