The newest Face of AMIA is Kin Wah Fung, MD, MS, MA, Staff Scientist, Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications, National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health. Dr. Fung is committed to improving the quality and value of medical data in the electronic health record through the use of medical terminologies. One of his professional accomplishments was overseeing the development of the clinical information systems in more than 40 public hospitals and institutions in Hong Kong, serving a population of almost 7 million people.

Matt Quinn Appointed FCC Director of Healthcare Initiatives
The FCC has named Matthew Quinn, MBA, as the agency’s director of healthcare initiatives. BPC Cost Containment Proposals Released The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) tried to breathe new life into budget savings proposals by focusing on containing health care costs. The BPC's health care cost containment initiative recommended several policies to eliminate waste in the system and reform payment and delivery structures.
