In this first series of breakouts, attendees will discuss the needs of health informatics education across the range of learners. Specific attention will be given to the needs in educating health professionals and administrative decision makers about informatics topics, in addition to formal training programs leading to careers in health informatics. (Breakouts will end at 5:00 PM.)

Recommendations to IMIA

During breakout discussion sessions, one of the breakouts will be a forum for formulation, led by members of the AMIA Education Committee and the AMIA Education Working Group, of recommendations to make on behalf of AMIA to the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) project on defining core competencies for medical informatics training. All attendees are invited to participate.
