The Department of Family Practice at the Crozer-Chester Medical Center will host a tour of their program and facility. The trip will consist of a tour of the facility and discussion led by John Zapp, M.D., department chair, regarding the departments programs and plans. Dr. Zapp has been a leader for many years in the use of clinical information systems and is currently implementing an electronic medical record (EMR) in his training clinic. The tour and the discussion following should serve as a stimulus that will promote interaction centering on the issues of EMR implementation. The Site Tour will be limited to the first 20 participants who register. Transportation and refreshments will be provided for a fee of $20.
Site 2: University of Pennsylvania

The University of Pennsylvania Site Tour is open to all. The core of the site tour will include demonstrations of more than a dozen applications and medical information systems.
Optional satellite excursions will be made to the universitys Center for Human Modeling and Simulation (applications of 3D computer graphics, simulation, and virtual reality to clinical care), Department of Radiology 3D imaging sites, and Clinical Research Computing Unit.
Transportation will be available, although the university is close enough to the Wyndham to make public transportation and walking convenient options as well. The fee for the University of Pennsylvania Site Tour will be $10, which will include transportation and light refreshments.
