Nursing Continuing Education Credit Available
Attendees of the 2007 AMIA Spring Congress may earn valuable continuing medical education (CME) credits by participating in the conference. AMIA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. AMIA designates this continuing medical education for up to 12 hours of Category 1 credit toward the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit actually spent in the educational activity.
Continuing education credit for nurses will be provided by the University of Maryland School of Nursing Office of Professional Development and Continuing Education, which is accredited as a provider of continuing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. The specific designation of contact hours as determined by the University of Maryland School of Nursing upon is as follows:
Tuesday, May 22 - 4.5 hours
Wednesday, May 23 - 4.5 hours
Thursday, May 24 - 3 hours
Total: Up to 12 hours for full conference

Learning Objectives
The learning objectives of the 2007 AMIA Spring Congress are:
- To demonstrate and discuss issues related to the development, application, and evaluation of information technologies, personal and public health care, and research with respect to thematic tracks focusing on Clinical Decision Support, Nursing Informatics, Personal Health Records, Public Health Informatics, and Translational Research Informatics.
- To provide plenary, semi-plenary, and track presentations that detail work, progress, and challenges related to the thematic tracks.
- To improve the knowledge and skill of attendees with respect to Clinical Decision Support, Nursing Informatics, Personal Health Records, Public Health Informatics, and Translational Research Informatics as they relate to personal and public health care and research.
- To present research and applied methodologies and results through a poster session highlighting the thematic tracks.
- To promote information exchange among attendees.

- Government officials and policy makers
- Health information and knowledge management professionals
- HIT industry professionals and consultants
- Physicians, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and other clinicians
