The Alamo
300 Alamo Plaza
On the east side of Alamo Plaza is the most famous spot in Texas where 189 defenders fell on March 6, 1836, after repeated attacks by Mexican General Santa Anna's army.
The Alamo hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday-Saturday; 10:00 am-5:30 pm Sunday.

Buckhorn Saloon & Museum
318 East Huston
Near the Alamo and the River Walk, this classic 1881 saloon and museum features an extensive wildlife exhibit of over 520 species from around the world.
Open 10 am - 5 pm.
Admission is $8.99.

Casa Navarro State Historical Park
228 South Laredo Street
Historic residence of Jose Antonio Navarro, a Texas legislator under Mexico, the Republic of Texas and the US.
Hours 10 am - 4 pm.
Admission $2.

San Antonio IMAX Theatre at Rivercenter

"Alamo - The Price of Freedom", a 45-minute docudrama and other features shown.
Admission $8.95.

Japanese Tea Garden
3800 North St. Mary's Street
Winding pebble walkways, stone bridges, a waterfall and tranquil pools highlight this lush garden.

King William Historic Area (near Downtown)
A 25-block area downtown on the south bank of the San Antonio River. In the late 1800s the King William District was the most elegant residential area in the city. Includes the following attractions

Guenther House

Restored home (and store) of founder of Pioneer Flour Mills. Of interest to collectors are the Dresden china anniversary plates made in Germany until WWII.

Steves Homestead Museum

Victorian French Second Empire designed home, the first inside swimming pool in San Antonio, and carriage house.

Majestic Theater

Mission Trails - San Antonio Missions National Historical Park
2202 Roosevelt Avenue
Chain of missions established along the San Antonio river in the 18th century. The park contains historically and architecturally significant structures of missions Conceocion, San Jose, San Juan and Espada. Other important cultural resources included are the historic Espada Dam and Aquduct systems and the Rancho de las Cabras.
Hours 9am-5pm.

River Walk (Paseo Del Rio)
The pride of the city, three miles of lush green foliage lines the banks of this peaceful, historic river - lined with unique retail shops, restaurants, and nightclubs.

San Antonio Botanical Gardens/Lucile Halsell Conservatory

33-acre garden representing the diverse Texas landscape.

San Antonio Zoological Gardens and Aquarium

Spanish Governor's Palace

Train station turned into entertainment center with wide variety of specialty restaurants and entertainment choices.

Tower of the Americas
600 HemisFair Park
750-ft tall tower offers a panoramic view of San Antonio. Glass-walled elevators ascend over 500 feet to the restaurant and observation level.

Veterans Memorial Plaza
Created by combat artist Austin Deuel, "Hill 811 S" depicts a marine holding a wounded comrade while looking skyward for an evacuation helicopter.
