Convened at the Houstonian Hotel and Spa, the AMIA CMIO Boot Camp is a comprehensive and engaging experience for physicians and nurses who are embarking on leadership roles in healthcare organizations. Through the CMIO Boot Camp experience, they prepare to achieve ‘meaningful use’ of EHRs.

Kuperman, MD, PhD, Director for Quality Informatics at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, Chairman of the Board of New York Clinical Information Exchange, and a faculty member in the Departments of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University and Public Health at Weill-Cornell Medical College.
Paul Tang, MD, MS, Vice President, Chief Innovation and Technology Officer at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF), and is Consulting Associate Professor of Medicine at Stanford University. Also directs the David Druker Center for Health Systems Innovation and also oversees PAMF's electronic health record (EHR) system and its integrated personal health record (PHR) system, MyHealthOnline (formerly PAMFOnline).

Richard Gibson, MD, PhD, MBA is Chief Health Care Intelligence and Informatics Officer at Providence Health and Services – Oregon Region. He is Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology at Oregon Health and Science University. Previously he was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Legacy Health in Portland. Before that he served 11 years as Chief Medical Information Officer at Providence Health System – Oregon Region.
Judy Murphy, RN, Vice President–Information Systems Applications, Aurora Health Care, Milwaukee, Wisc. Also serves as a Member of the US-DHHS HIT Standards Committee, Clinical Quality Workgroup, and Implementation Workgroup.
M. Michael Shabot, MD, FACS, FCCM, FACMI, is Chief Medical Officer for the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston, Texas. Dr. Shabot is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas at Houston, School of Biomedical Informatics Sciences. Dr. Shabot is Board certified in General Surgery and Surgery Critical Care, with specialties in general surgery, trauma surgery and critical care.

Kevin Tabb, MD, Chief Medical Officer for Stanford Hospital & Clinics, and Associate Professor of Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center.

James M. Walker, MD, Chief Health Information Officer, Geisinger Health System, Executive Director of Geisinger’s EHR Safety Institute, and co-PI of a $1.5 million AHRQ-funded study of the usability and effectiveness of EHRs in ICUs. Also serves as a Member of the US-DHHS HIT Standards Committee.
