2010 Annual Health Policy Invitational Meeting
The Future of Health IT: Innovation and Informatics
AMIA's 5th Annual Invitational Meeting focused on" The Future of Health IT: Innovation and Informatics. The conference was held on September 1-2, 2010 in Reston, VA. The meeting included several plenary sessions: Health Care Reform, HITECH, and the View from 2015; Fraud and Failures; and Cybersecurity. General session speakers include: John Glaser, Siemens; Linda Connell, NASA; and William Barker, NIST.
Breakout sessions focused on: Ensuring Resilience in Health Care and Health IT; Facing Ethical Legal and Social Challenges; and Sustaining Adoption and Innovation in Health IT. Ted Shortliffe, AMIA CEO and President moderated a debate on the Stifling of Innovation. Debaters include: Don Detmer, John Halamka Randy Miller, and Don Rucker.
