I. Job Characteristics:

II. Position Summary

Responsible for the support of clinical information systems in the hospital network. Works closely with the CIO and the Director of IS. Member of the IS management team. Serves as a resource for the daily operational issues of the hospital’s clinical system applications.

III. Education and Training Required

Masters or equivalent in Nursing or a Health Care Related field.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

IV. Experience Required

Prior experience in management in the health care environment (3-5 years). Experience with personal computers (2-3 years).

Daily Operations of Clinical Applications Collaborates with IS Education Manager and Clinical Application Analysts to identify educational needs and develop programs for clinical application users.

Identifies issues which need additional IS support and enlists support needed.
         
Liaison to Clinical Departments Participates in evaluation and purchase decisions of hardware/software and/or biomedical devices which may impact the clinical information system.

Participates in appropriate meetings with clinical departments to promote communication between departments.

Provides suggestions for use of computer technology to optimize clinical department operations
