II. Position Summary

Responsible for the support of clinical information systems in the hospital network.
Serves as a resource person for the daily operational issues of the hospital’s clinical systems.

III. Education and Training Required

Masters or equivalent in Nursing or a Health Care Related field.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

IV. Experience Required

Prior experience in healthcare environment (3-5 years). Demonstrated ability to function well under pressure.

V. Special Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Experience with personal computers (2-3 years). PC hardware troubleshooting experience helpful.

Clinical liaison between IS Department and Patient Care Areas Provides education to clinical staff regarding Information System’s clinical applications.

Assists clinical staff in identifying cause and solution to computer issues.

Collaborates in development and distribution of newsletters for clinical staff.

Provides cross-training for other members of the IS staff with regard to clinical information systems.
         
Clinical project leader Lead/coordinate the transition to live environment of appropriate clinical applications.

Provides Clinical Services Manager of IS and Director of IS with updates regarding the project status, needs, and issues.
         
Supports implementation of clinical information applications Provide clinical expertise in evaluation of computer programs and applications.

Assist IS Education Coordinator with development of education literature and training programs.

Maintains knowledge of current technology in the healthcare environment.
