Membership Information
AMIA advances the informatics professions relating to health and disease. To this end it advances the use of health information technology in clinical care, personal health management, public health/population, and research with the ultimate objective of improving health.
AMIA links developers and users of health information technology, creating an environment which fosters advances that revolutionize health care. Membership is open to individuals, institutions, and corporations.

Working Groups
AMIA Working Groups serve as a mechanism for members to exchange information on a particular topical area of biomedical and health informatics with their colleagues and to become involved in the development of positions, issues, white papers, programs, and other activities to benefit the informatics community. Each Working Group has an on-line discussion list in which members discuss key issues and developments in the field.
