TIGER (Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform) Demonstration of the Virtual Learning Environment
Working Group
April 23, 2013 11:00AM - 12:00PM EDT
In 2004, TIGER brought together stakeholders to develop a shared vision, strategies and specific actions for improving nursing practice, education, and the delivery of patient care through the use of Health Information Technology (HIT). TIGER utilized a collaborative workgroup approach to advance education on HIT topics. The TIGER Virtual Demonstration Collaborative workgroup studied the benefits and challenges of a virtual learning environment (VLE) to expedite innovation and adoption of HIT. This collaborative identified that a dynamic and sustainable platform was needed to continuously showcase the most effective and efficient current technology-enabled and near future-enabling technologies to advance nursing practice, education and research. Building on this grass roots approach and identified need, TIGER has brought to fruition its virtual learning environment. In this webinar you will see a demonstration of this exciting new interactive educational resource.
This multi-faceted, learning environment is an essential resource for faculty, students, and health care professionals to assist in the development of knowledge and skills of informatics and HIT tools.
Learning Objectives
