Hot Topics
May 16, 2013 11:00AM - 12:00PM EDT
The mission of CDC’s Informatics Research & Development Activity (IRDA) is to advance the field of public health informatics through applied research and innovation. This activity, with its R&D Lab, collaborates with CDC programs and the broader public health and health informatics community to develop innovative technologies and techniques to improve public health practice and the overall health of the population.
Dr. Savel will provide a brief overview of public health informatics, and then provide an overview of the resources IRDA provides. He will then provide specific examples of the projects the lab has undertaken- including clinical decision support mobile applications. He will conclude by describing goals for the future. For more information about the Informatics R&D Laboratory as well as current projects or other resources, please access http://www.phiresearchlab.org. You can contact the lab directly at informaticslab@cdc.gov.
This webinar will provide a concise overview of public health informatics and share key insights from the federal perspective, focusing on applied public health informatics research & development activities.
