Master's in Health and Medical Informatics at Brandeis University
The Master of Science in Health and Medical Informatics program addresses the growing need for professionals who need to possess both analytical skills and business acumen with the goal of improving health care delivery systems through information technology. This is a professionally oriented degree with an emphasis on industry relevant knowledge to further career goals. This discipline is well suited to the continuing studies approach: equipping working adults who seek to advance their professional careers with applied knowledge and the analytic capacity and framework to keep pace with a changing field. Offered online, the curriculum focuses on the study and application of principles of information management, design, integration, implementation, and evaluation to enterprise-wide health care information systems. The goal of this offering is to graduate professionals who have a broad based understanding of how information technology is used in the modern healthcare environment for both clinical and administrative purposes. To this end, all courses are developed and taught by professionals currently working in the field of health and medical informatics. Class sizes are small and limited to 20 students per class.
