Health Informatics at Weill Cornell Medical College
The Master of Science in Health Informatics at the Center for Healthcare Informatics and Policy prepares students for careers at the intersection of health and information technology, through training in research, analytics, policy and management. The innovative curriculum applies a systems science perspective to health and healthcare, and incorporates a transdisciplinary approach by fusing traditional methods from health services research with computational and informatics techniques. The 30-credit Master’s program includes courses in health information technology, health care delivery, research design and methodology and a mentored research project providing hands-on experience. Students attending full-time can complete the program in 12-15 months, and part-time in 18-24 months. Applicants require a bachelor’s degree or higher, with background in healthcare, public health, information technology, computer science, engineering, biomedical research or a related field

Health Information Technology Certificate Program
The Certificate in Health Information Technology at the Center for Healthcare Informatics and Policy is a pragmatic executive-format training program for students who seek to apply their skills in health information technology. Through a combination of distance learning and evening classes, students learn about current technology issues from leaders in the field. Coursework focuses on healthcare information systems, health information exchange, privacy and security, and the application of information technology to improve quality, safety, and decision-making. Students can complete the 10-credit program in 12 months. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or higher, with background in healthcare, public health, information technology, computer science, engineering, biomedical research or a related field.
