The purpose of the AMIA Advancement (ADV) Committee is to ensure the effective and appropriate involvement of AMIA members in governance and non-governance leadership activities, such as those associated with Councils, Working Groups, and Task Forces.

Duties and Responsibilities

The principal responsibilities and functions of the Committee are as follows:

  1. Liaise with AMIA's Councils, Working Groups, and Task Forces to identify, coordinate, and harmonize leadership needs and requirements.
  2. Develop outreach, engagement, and communications plans to promote opportunities for members to participate in non-governance leadership activities, as identified per item (1).
  3. Develop and deliver educational and training materials to assist AMIA members in understanding and succeeding in governance and non-governance leadership roles.
