Texas State University (TXST) has offered degrees in health information since 1976 and continues to add new programs to facilitate student and faculty research and address evolving workforce needs. Health Informatics integrates health sciences, information science, computing, and data analytics to assist healthcare professionals to organize, protect, analyze, and apply health information to improve clinical decisions and patient outcomes. The CAHIIM-accredited Master of Health Information Management (MHIM) program offers a concentration in Health Informatics and Data Analytics. The curriculum supplements core health information management competencies with additional health informatics and data analytics courses. The program is available 100% online with some courses also available on campus. TXST is a public, doctoral degree-granting institution with high research activity accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges.
