Nursing Student

As a nursing student, I have had opportunity to perform patient care in a

variety of hospital settings. Throughout these experiences, I developed a

special interest in caring for acutely ill patients during my 432 hours

spent in the ICU. Here, I was able to perform invasive bedside

procedures with physicians, cared for ventilated patients and participated

in a number of varied resuscitation efforts. During my time in the ICU, I

cared for medical, neurological, cardiac and surgical ICU patients. I have

spent many other hours on other specialized units focusing on patient

interaction, patient prioritization, time management and organization.

Director of Nursing Services (12/2011 - Present)

As the director of nursing services, I supervise the care of patients

delivered by 15+ nurses, 60+ CNAs, 3 resident care managers and I

monitor the performance of the therapy department, social services, and

dietary services. I constantly monitor the quality measures to determine

the quality of care delivered to the patients, I analyze the trends of

hospitalization and determine if and where education is necessary, I

serve as a primary contact during state survey and help to develop the

plan for improvement as necessary. I monitor the performance of all

direct care staff members, recognize need for improvement, establish

performance improvement plans, hire and terminate staff, and seek

opportunities for educational improvement. I communicate the need for

education, performance improvement, equipment needs, infection control

management, staffing needs, and departmental concerns to the building

administrator and regional director of operations. I serve as a resource

for all nursing staff, dietary staff, therapy services and social services. I

am a resource to all staff for the electronic health record which includes

programming of computer hardware, communicating the need for

equipment to the corporate IT department, recognizing the need for

infrastructural improvement and identifying where the hardware can be

improved and communicating these needs so other installations can be

improved. I continue to complete the duties of the RCM as necessary, I

continue to serve as a charge nurse as necessary. I help to schedule all

Resident Care Manager (8/2011 - 12/2011)

As the resident care manager, I am responsible for the direct patient care

staff and the duties they perform. I direct the patient’s care through

establishing appropriate and up to date plans of care specific to the

needs of the patient. I serve as a clinical resource to the charge nurses

as necessary for guidance and assistance with treatments, patient

assessments, documentation, venous access procedures, medication

clarification and requests, direction for appropriate disciplinary action to

assistive staff and emotional support. I make myself available to all direct

care staff for duties wherein they may require additional assistance. I

perform governmental documentation and submission of the current

Medicare and Medicaid Minimum Data Set information according to the

timelines and guidelines determined by the Centers for Medicare and

Medicaid Services. As part of an interdisciplinary team for patient care, I

participate in various meetings to address and modify the direction of

care received by the patients for which I am responsible.

Charge Nurse (11/2010 - 8/2011)

In the long term care facility, the charge nurse as the most highly

qualified care provider on site, is responsible for identifying critical patient

needs and acute conditions and communicate these needs to physicians

or general practitioners. As a charge nurse, I provide direct patient care,

direction and delegation to assistive staff and coordination of patient care

between multiple disciplines including physical, occupational and speech

therapies. Patient care includes providing accurate assessment and

Field / Bench Technician

As a field technician, I installed and maintain mobile and base station

two-way and CB radios, designed and installed complete mobile

emergency lighting and intercom system for fire and EMS vehicles

including: wiring, mounting, and controllers. I performed remote site;

maintenance, complete system installation, alignment and repair as

required including: housekeeping, installing all cabling, RF filtration, RF

combination, and setting up other radio equipment, general radio

alignment and repair in software and on the component level. As a bench

technician, I performed regular maintenance and repair of mobile and

portable two-way radios and accessories, simple remote notification

systems and minor in-house computer network management and

maintenance as needed and mobile intercom systems from the software

Field Termination Technician

As a field termination technician, I worked in a food process facility

completing new process equipment installation including conduit bending

and installation, wire installation and termination to instrumentation and

PLCs. I also installed all necessary wiring and other hardware into PLC

control panels including DIN railing, terminal blocks, fused terminal

blocks, I/O cards and controllers, all integral wiring and labeling as well

as system and component functional testing. I also installed complete
