The successful applicant will join a dynamic faculty at SBMI who are active in research, education, and applying informatics to clinical practice. This position will involve tight collaborations with UTHealth clinical partners such as UT Physicians, Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, and Harris Health  in the areas of  advanced analytics of EHR data for clinical, administrative, and research purposes. The candidate will have a faculty appointment at SBMI and potentially a joint appointment with one of the clinical partners. UTHealth is in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center (TMC) located in cosmopolitan Houston, Texas, the fourth largest city in the United States. SBMI currently offers one PhD degree and two Master's degrees (Traditional and Professional degrees), along with a certificate program in biomedical and health informatics.

QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate should have strong experience in clinical operations. The candidate should have a medical degree in any specialty area and strong informatics training and experience, or a doctoral degree in informatics, computer science, operations research, or equivalent area with strong clinical operations experience. The applicant should have strong track record of working on real world informatics problems, especially advanced analytics, in large clinical settings. Candidates who can contribute to collaborative research with other SBMI faculty and faculty at UTHealth will be preferred.
   
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will be expected to be the liaison between SBMI and UTH clinical partners, participate in advanced analytics projects at one of the UTHealth clinical partner sites, teach applied informatics courses at SBMI, participate in collaborative research and application projects with other faculty, and provide service at the school, university, national, and international levels. Collaborative projects with other faculty in the school and across UTHealth and the Texas Medical Center is expected.
   
SALARY: Competitive and dependent upon qualifications and experience.
