The Division of Genomic Medicine in the Department of Medicine at UCSF invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Division. Candidates must be physicians with a medical degree (M.D. or equivalent) and be either licensed or eligible for a license to practice medicine in California. Preference will be given to physicians with training in clinical genetics or in any subspecialty in internal medicine.
The position is for an academic physician whose career goals are to combine a primary emphasis on research with clinical practice. Research programs may range from basic research to investigating how to apply genetics and genomics to patient care, and may include laboratory research, bioinformatics, or medical informatics in an electronic health record environment. The successful candidate should demonstrate an interest and track record in collaborative, interdisciplinary and translational research in genetics and genomics. The candidate must have outstanding written and communication skills. A successful candidate will be part of the Division of Genomic Medicine and the Institute for Human Genetics and will be proposed for membership in an appropriate Graduate Program at UCSF.
