AMIA 10x10 with the The US Department of Veterans Affairs

The US Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Informatics and Analytics, Health Informatics is pleased to offer a Virtual program entitled the “VA Health Informatics Certificate Program.”

The content of the VA Health Informatics Certificate Program represents a broad survey of the field of Health Informatics. The course is meant to represent the domain of Health Informatics in a general sense, not specific to any particular subspecialty (e.g. Pharmacy, Nursing Informatics).
The primary objectives of the VA Health Informatics Certificate Program are to develop a cadre of VA informatics leaders who can catalyze, implement and support Health Information Technology innovations, and to provide students an opportunity to explore how informatics can be used to improve health care delivery.

All VA staff are eligible to participate. Priority consideration will be given to staff in Health Informatics leadership roles and “boots on the ground” informatics staff such as Clinical Application Coordinators, Clinical Informaticians, Bar Code Medication Administration Coordinators and Informatics Fellows, and staff in related areas including Health Information Management, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Medical Librarians, and clinical staff. Content is at the graduate school level. While there are no prerequisites for enrollment, learners selected for the course will be expected to function on a graduate school level based either on history of formal education or life and work experience.

**The VA Virtual 10x10 Program is open only to VA staff.

Those interested in participating in the program should contact Elizabeth Sears Chapman, Program Analyst at Elizabeth.chapman@va.gov.
