Awards Committee

The committee receives proposals for new meeting related awards from working groups or other member communities. The committee reviews these proposals prior to presenting it to the Board for approval. The committee pays special attention to funding aspects of proposed awards and takes into consideration current award financing as it relates to the creation of new meeting awards. The committee works with the AMIA office to coordinate the awards presented at AMIA meetings including the Student Paper Award Competition. The Student Paper Advisory Committee (SPAC), whose chair is a member of the committee, is responsible for the competition. SPAC judges are not committee members (unless they are otherwise appointed to the committee). Award details are maintained in separate documents maintained by the AMIA office.
